Jonathan is an educational professional with several years of experience helping a variety of individuals meet both personal and educational goals. He helps individuals of all ages and backgrounds achieve academic and social success through a variety of effective strategies and techniques. Jonathan has training and experience in assisting with school functioning (executive functioning, organization, study strategies, etc.), life coaching, Special Education (learning disabilities and social/emotional concerns), and ADD/ADHD. Jonathan received a B.A. in Communication from DePaul University in Chicago and a M.A. in Learning Disabilities with additional studies in Social/Emotional Disorders from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. His graduate thesis examined ADD/ADHD and the use of medication along with alternative intervention strategies. Through research, personal and professional experiences, he assists individuals better understand and address ADD/ADHD as well as Executive Functioning issues. He received training in the Wilson Language Program as well as having experience with Lindamood Bell programs (Visualizing & Verbalizing and Seeing Stars). Both of these programs improve skills with reading comprehension and decoding. Jonathan is on the clinical staff at The Child, Adolescent and Family Development Center in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Based on his contributions to the field of education, he is an honored member of Cambridge’s Who’s Who. He is also a member of CEC (Council for Exceptional Children), CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), LDA (Learning Disabilities Association) and COPAA (Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates). Jonathan is considered an expert in the field of education. In addition to helping individuals and families, he is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars highlighting current trends in education. He is a featured guest on ABC, Fox and NBC newscasts in Chicago discussing various topics on education. Outside interests include watching and participating in sports, fishing, reading, music and technology. |
